Christ’s College gains approval from the Ministry of Education to establish
“Taipei Christ’s College”

2011/6/13

Thank the Lord for His guidance; after one and a half years of preparation, Christ’s College finally gained the Ministry of Education’s approval to establish “Taipei Christ’s College”, which is a big step forward towards official registration.

This time, Christ’s College submitted an application in compliance with the Ministry of Education’s “ Religious School Law” (宗教研修學院設立辦法). By doing so, we aim to establish the first Christian Liberal Art College in Taiwan, with the premises of maintaining the college’s governing values and mission statement that has been upheld for half a century. We emphasize the integration of faith and learning, not only providing professional education, but also fostering young Christians with Biblical worldview. Christ’s College hereby proclaims that this is not a seminary: the purpose of education at this college is not to train professional ministers. Additionally, “Liberal Arts” is not a substitute term for “General Courses” as many colleges assume; it is the unified employment of Christian higher educational philosophy, which believes that Scripture is the final authority of all truth.

Christ’s College strives to cultivate graduates who embody the “8 Cs” – “Christian Character, Compassion, Communication Skills, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Cooperation, Competence, and Contribution.” Thus, the graduates can become Christ’s ambassadors in society to help change the world, as they become servants of God’s kingdom in churches and professions.

In the Lord, we sincerely appreciate our alumni, parents, and various churches for years of support, and prayers. Please continue to pray for us. Hopefully after completion of MOE registration and recruiting procedures, the college will begin the enrollment of the first registered class this coming September. We hope that with great endeavor and sincere efforts, Christ’s College can live up to the vision Dr. James Graham had from God when he founded this school fifty-two years ago; and that the College will meet the expectations and gain the trust of church leaders of various churches and distinguished people in the society.
