We use both communicative and traditional language teaching methods, combined with small group work and interactive classrooms. Students are educated in the fields of music theory, music performance and church music. Emphasis is put on the integrated learning of theory, performance, and group performance. Furthermore, during their last year, the performance courses and a graduation performance prepare the student for their future profession. For the first year, the courses emphasize fundamental music theory, while the last three years emphasizes professional performance techniques. We emphasize the concept of "learning by doing". Therefore, many courses are practical courses, where students can learn from hands-on experiences. They have opportunity to work as staff for our school's community newspaper---doing interviews, writing, editing, soliciting advertising, and delivering the newspaper. Students also have opportunity to gain experience through summer internships at Christian and non-Christian companies and organizations. The core courses are in two areas: journalism & public relations and video production. The former emphasizes journalism, mass communication theory, basic news gathering and writing, graphics editing and public relations.
